Connecting Black & interracial families through adoption

If you're a Black/biracial expectant mom or a Black/interracial couple looking to adopt, this adoption directory and our growing Facebook community provide you the opportunity to self-match for private adoption. We are grossly under-represented in the industry and are here to dispel the myth that Black people don't adopt.

MEET THE FOUNDER

Hey, I’m Jourdan!

I am mom through adoption and I have experienced both infertility and adoption. Adoption was always part of the plan, my husband and I talked about adoption before we were even engaged. Both of us grew up around adoption and Black adoptees so it was never a taboo subject. If anything, I found it more shocking that there was such a lack of people of color within adoption being represented.

I started managing a Black adoption-centered support group on Facebook as a passion project to give back and help add insight into an overlooked portion of the adoption industry. Having had the same emotions and struggles as many other hopeful adoptive parents I’ve inadvertently become a resource to so many on my personal Instagram and in the community. I say all the time, I'm not fancy or super polished; I want you to think of me as your homegirl who adopted that can give you all the details on what you should and should not do. I believe that together we are building something amazing for our community!

CULTURE DOES MATTER

After years of personal and professional experience, Noire Adoption was founded to help expectant moms of Black and biracial babies or kids find couples with similar ethnic backgrounds and make the dream life for their child a reality. Too often women request to be presented with Black or interracial couples and are told: “We don’t have any”. Some have even been told the child would be better off with a non-Black family because a Black family can’t provide the best life for the child. A black family not good enough for a Black child?!

Expectant parents - with our directory, you’ll have the opportunity to browse Black and interracial couples and self-match for private domestic adoption. If you’re a hopeful adoptive parent our goal is to help you increase your visibility in the hopes of getting matched sooner.

Kind words from a few members…

Overcome your obstacles to adopt

Get your home study

Every state requires a domestic adoption home study in order to adopt. It can be done through an agency or independent social worker.

Create your profile

One of the first impressions an expectant mom has on you is your adoption profile book. You don’t want to skimp detail on this or get passed up because you won’t take the time to create one.

Connect with a mom

Expectant moms will search our directory to find the perfect Black, biracial or interracial parent(s) to place her baby with. Other “Black” adoption directories aren’t Black-owned or operated.

Grow your family

A stronger community is formed when we can build within. We’re passionate about giving Black & biracial expectant mom’s more options for potential parents.

View Profiles of Hopeful Adoptive Parents

Let’s face it, if you’re an expectant mom then you’re probably here because the agency you were working with to find adoptive parents had little to no options for Black or interracial couples. Unfortunately, you aren’t the first. Our community on Facebook started for this very reason. You should have the option of choosing a Black or interracial couple to place your baby with.

Browse through the profiles of our waiting families to make a connection. Because your choice matters.
